New Venture Fellowships

Supporting young scientists to enter a new field

Applications accepted throughout the year

EMBO New Venture Fellowships support early career scientists, in any field of life science research, who would use this opportunity to enter a new field of research. The intention of these fellowships is to support high quality candidates to explore feasible projects or generate preliminary data to help transform their research trajectory.

In memory of a bright-minded and passionate scientist, the EMBO New Venture Fellowships will help scientists explore topics outside their current area to allow them to pursue a new research direction in their future work.

Suzanne Eaton was an internationally acclaimed scientist, known for her contribution to cell signalling, tissue mechanics and regulation of metabolism during development and mathematical modelling. She was actively engaged in multi-disciplinary research and encouraged others to overcome the challenges of entering a new field for the benefit of intellectual and scientific advancement.

With the desire of many to honour Suzanne as a scientist, mentor, and friend, a fund was established in her memory. These funds can now be invested in science, in Suzanne’s honour.
