Scientists can apply for funding to organize an EMBO Global Lecture Course. EMBO contributes up to €42,500 (€35,000 of core funding plus €5,500 for travel grants and registration fee waivers, €1,000 for childcare grants and €1,000 for accessibility grants) per course.
EMBO also supports organizers and the meeting by:
- Creating a dedicated lecture course webpage, including registration and abstract submission system
- Providing a poster and advertising in selected print and social media channels
- Offering funding for an EMBO Young Investigator Lecture, EMBO Science Policy Lecture and EMBO Women in Science Lecture
EMBO offers travel grants, childcare grants and accessibility grants for each event. Participants should apply directly to the organizers for these grants.
Organizers are encouraged to experiment with hybrid or virtual conference formats. Organizers will receive an additional €3,000 on top of the core funding to cover the extra costs of running a hybrid event. At the committee’s discretion, and if well justified, such as when substantial and costly measures are implemented to significantly enhance the virtual participant experience, this amount may be increased to a maximum of €5,000.
