EMBO and Westlake University are establishing a strategic partnership to strengthen scientific collaboration between the European and Chinese research communities in the Life Sciences. 

At the heart of the partnership is the EMBO Connect Office, based at Westlake University in Hangzhou.  

The EMBO Connect Office acts as a liaison between Westlake University and the European research ecosystem.    

In particular, the office supports EMBO Press in strengthening its engagement with the Chinese research community, encouraging Chinese scientists to contribute to EMBO Press journals and Review Commons as authors and reviewers. Through an annual EMBO Press-led conference in China, together with targeted training in peer review, research integrity and scientific communication, EMBO Connect builds bridges between European and Chinese scientific communities.
