Engaging the EMBO Community in research assessment reform
Insights from the EMBO Young Investigator Network
EMBO drives innovation in the research ecosystem by shaping and implementing policies and tools
EMBO policy work contributes to building an open, inclusive and fair research ecosystem that enables high-quality, responsible, trustworthy and reproducible science.
EMBO leads or takes part in initiatives shaping innovative policies that meet the needs of researchers while strengthening the conditions under which science is conducted and communicated.
We collaborate with the global scientific community, international organizations, funding agencies, academies, policymakers, decision-makers, journals, publishers, and other experts.
Our approach is cross-sectional, integrating multiple initiatives across the EMBO programmes and initiatives. This includes convening multi-stakeholder workshops and discussion sessions with subject-matter experts, raising awareness through community visits and direct engagement with researchers to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices.
EMBO is actively engaged in the development, dissemination and implementation of policies related to Open Science, Research Integrity and Research Assessment, Lab Sustainability, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Through EMBO Press, EMBO drives innovation in the research ecosystem by:
Promoting open dissemination of knowledge
Fostering responsible conduct of research
Understanding and addressing geographical and gender imbalances in the life sciences
