European-based journalists have until 30 October to apply for financial support.
EMBO announces a deadline extension for its science journalism scheme until 30 October 2026. The Maria Leptin | EMBO Science Journalism Fellowships offer financial support for sabbaticals at research institutions across Europe.
EMBO also announced new members of the scheme’s Advisory Board.
“Many new and former members of the Advisory Board are expected to attend the European Conference of Science Journalism in Hannover on 14 and 15 October and extending the deadline will allow additional time for journalists to discuss their ideas and prepare their applications,” said Marina Giampietro, EMBO Head of Communications and new coordinator of the funding scheme.
The Advisory Board independently assesses applications and advises EMBO on the operation of the scheme.
“We thank the original members of the Board for their support over more than two years, and welcome the new Board members,” said Giampietro.
