Travel grants and registration fee waivers

Travel grants and registration fee waivers support participants who have been selected to attend a scientific meeting funded by EMBO

Travel grants and registration fee waivers are available for eligible participants selected to attend EMBO Workshops, EMBO Practical Courses, EMBO | FEBS Lecture Courses, and EMBO | EMBL Symposia.

EMBO Practical Courses and EMBO Workshops

Travel grants and registration fee waivers are available to attend EMBO Practical Courses and EMBO Workshops. The selection of awardees is handled directly by the organizer. For questions regarding travel grants for a specific event, please contact the relevant organiser directly.

EMBO travel grants and registration fee waivers are allocated on the basis of the quality of the abstract submitted.

Until the end of 2024, researchers at any career stage from Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, and Turkey can apply for a grant up to 700 euros to cover registration fees, travel and accommodation cost to participate at any EMBO Course or Workshop.

Additional travel grants and fee waivers are allocated for participants of any nationality working in laboratories in Chile, India, Singapore and Taiwan.

Applicants must justify the reasons for applying for a travel grant and/or a fee waiver when registering for an event.
