Programme '06

The annual YIP meeting provides a forum for the members of the programme to network and exchange ideas. Young Investigators will present their research via a talk and a poster. Informal discussion sessions provide the opportunity to exchange ideas on scientific or general interest topics.

The talks will be open to scientists working at the IMP and surrounding institutes. A joint poster session and an evening out together will give Young Investigators and local scientists the opportunity to meet each other.


Programme

informal round table discussion sessions
meet an EMBO Journal Editor
discussion session: update on the European Research Council. With Luc van Dyck (ELSF) and Prof. Helga Nowotny (Vice-Chair of the science council of the ERC)
Social activities: Dinner at Heuriger (Viennease restaurant), Leopold Museum Tour and Dinner in Vienna, free evening in Vienna.

Programme '06

The meeting will start at 12 noon on Wednesday 3rd May and is scheduled to end on the evening of Friday 5th May 2006

Location

The meeting will take place at the IMP (Institute for Molecular Pathology) in Vienna. Hosts are Barry Dickson (director of the IMP, and ex-YIP) and Jan-Michael Peters (ex-YIP). The organizing committee include IMP-YIPs Anton Wutz and Tim Clausen and Diane Turner (local organization).
This will be the first time that the YIP meeting does not take place at the EMBL in Heidelberg. It is planned for the future to hold every third YIP meeting at a location outside the EMBL.

Participation details

Accommodation fee and travel expenses are covered for EMBO Young Investigators. Please see the travel guidelines for further information. Please inform us of your arrival and departure details via the web registration form.

Local scientists are invited to attend the talks, poster sessions and selected social events. Local scientists do not need to register.

Hotel

Participants will stay in the Hotel Biedermeier. The Hotel is appr. 20 min walking distance from the IMP. Transport to and from the hotel will be arranged.
