strengthen research in Central Europe
promoting the
scientific leaders of tomorrow
The Series was started in 2002 in order to support scientists and science
in the Central European member states. The aim of the meetings are to
facilitate networking and provide a forum for discussions in and between
these countries.
The programme usually includes research seminars, a poster session,
a panal discussion with repersentatives from Central European Research
countries and forum for international funding organizations who offer
funding opportunities in Central Europe.
The meeting is financed by EMBO and HHMI, but is organised locally by
EMBO Members and/or HHMI International Scholars.
Participants are EMBO/HHMI Young Investigators, Scientists and Startup
Grantees, EMBO Members, HHMI International Scholars and life scientists
from Central Europe.
EMBO/HHMI are offering accomodation grants to selected participants.

Scientists Meeting 2007
The meeting will take place in

EMBO/HHMI meeting 2005
The third EMBO/HHMI Central European Scientists meeting took place in
Budapest, Hungary from 7 - 8 February 2005.

EMBO/HHMI meeting 2004
The second EMBO/HHMI Central European Scientists meeting took place
from 21 - 23 February 2004 in Prague.

EMBO/HHMI meeting 2003
The first EMBO/HHMI Central European Scientists meeting for Young Investigators
from the region, Scientists, HHMI International Scholars and EMBO members
took place at the IIMCB in Warsaw, Poland, from 24 - 25 May 2003.

The meeting was attended by 80 scientists from the Central European
members states (namely Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland) and Estonia.
The meeting covered a wide range of topics in biology. It also provided
an opportunity for scientists from Central Europe to network and discuss
common problems and possible solutions.
