World Activities

EMBO World Activities sponsors practical courses and workshops held outside of Europe to promote global scientific excellence by strengthening links between research communities in European and the rest of the world. EMBO training opportunities are open to scientists worldwide.

Annual application deadlines: 1 February and 1 August

World Practical Courses

Practical courses enable students from around the world to interact and learn new methods together. The focus of these meetings is on cutting-edge techniques and usually up to 20 scientists participate.

World Lecture Courses

Lecture Courses cater for students at an early stage of their career by providing them with up-to date information on a range of diverse topics. Up to 100 students can participate in these meetings where they have the opportunity to meet experts in their field and develop contacts with fellow scientists from other geographical areas.
