About
The EMBO Young Investigator Programme supports young scientists at the beginning of their independent careers. EMBO appreciates the importance of management skills for a successful career in science today and has, in partnership with two consulting teams, designed this course.
The Laboratory Management Courses address basic issues in the areas of staff selection, leadership, effective problem solving and communication. The four-day courses cover hiring of staff, leadership and team development, communication (taking into account personality and culture) as well as conflict and problem solving. Practical exercises in the form of role-play and discussion groups, provide hands-on experience.
