A cookie is a small text file that is sent automatically to your internet browser via a website. Using cookies, EMBO can gather and analyze information regarding the use of its websites. For instance, the domain name, the number of hits, pages visited, sites visited before/after and the length of time spent on the site. We use this information to improve our websites and to provide you with relevant information.

    First party cookies are set by the primary website, you are visiting and they can only be read by the owner of that site.

Your right to reject cookies?

 

All cookies on your computer can be disabled. You can do this by changing your internet browser settings so it rejects all cookies.

 

Most EMBO website pages do work without cookies, but you will lose some features and functionality if you choose to disable cookies. For example you will not be able to log in to EMBO website to download logos and images.

E-mail privacy policy

 

EMBO respects the privacy of personal e-mail addresses and complies with the current legislation on data privacy and security. The objective is not to send you unwanted messages, and your e-mail details will not be passed on to any other individual or organization without your explicit permission.

 

You may receive e-newsletters from EMBO concerning:

  • Products and services similar to those you have already received from EMBO
  • Activities or scientific information specifically concerning EMBO and its communities

 

You can manage the extent to which EMBO communicates with you by selecting the categories of e-newsletters you wish to receive from EMBO. You are asked to indicate whether or not you wish to receive EMBO generated e-newsletters. All e-newsletters sent to you offer the possibility to unsubscribe. Your e-mail address will be deleted from the distribution list if you choose to unsubscribe from all e-newsletters.

 

If you indicate that you do not wish to receive EMBO e-newsletters, you will only receive e-mails directly related to the transactions you have with EMBO (e.g. confirmations of registrations; important information for EMBO Members, Young Investigators, Installation Grantees and Fellows; Committee schedules etc.) and other necessary individual communications.
