EMBO welcomes 55 leading life scientists as members
HEIDELBERG, 9 May 2012 – Fifty-five life scientists from Europe and around the world were today recognised by EMBO for their excellence in research. Forty-eight of the researchers are from Europe and neighbouring countries while seven scientists from Argentina, Australia, South Korea and the United States join as Associate Members. HEIDELBERG, 13 October 2011 – Scientists in Singapore and Europe will have new avenues for scientific interaction, following a cooperation agreement between EMBO, its intergovernmental funding body, EMBC, and the government of Singapore. The agreement will allow Singapore scientists to participate in EMBO training programmes and activities. It also means that EMBO workshops and lectures can take place in Singapore. Additional Turkish life scientist to receive 2010 EMBO Installation Grant
HEIDELBERG, Germany, 14 December 2010 – EMBO is pleased to announce that an additional life scientist, Volkan Seyrantepe, will also receive an EMBO Installation Grant for 2010, assisting him to establish his research group at the Izmir Institute of Technology in Turkey. This scientist will receive funding similar to the previous six awardees announced last week. Volkan Seyrantepe is moving to Izmir from the University of Montreal in Canada to research biological functions of mammalian sialidases using mouse models.
